In 2001, borrowing the names of two previous pets, Kris Kava, one of our most prominent volunteers, formed the Sam Winston Account.
As a direct result of the work carried out by Kris and our other wonderful volunteers (constantly running animals to new homes), more animals than ever before are being re-homed and less than ever before are being euthanized.
But this is only possible if they are healthy. Nobody wants to adopt a sick cat or dog.
The Sam Winston account is a fund that is maintained at the Siouxland Animal Hospital and is now used for the provision of necessary veterinary care to any of our shelter animals that require it.
Prior to this account being set up, there was nothing specifically devoted to provide medical care and because of this, the future of animals requiring medical care was extremely uncertain.
In order to continue this wonderful work, we are asking for your help!
If you are able to make a donation of any size, it will be applied to the Sam Winston Account to allow this literally lifesaving work to continue.

We had a wonderful donation from the Staff and Pupils at Joy School, who raised $170 for the appeal by selling puppy chow!
